Corporate Volunteering
Engage Your Employees Through Volunteering
Volunteering can provide a rewarding, engaging and meaningful workplace experience for your employees. The Volunteer Center offers many ways to help your organization develop and promote corporate volunteering.
On-Site Volunteering Opportunities
On-site volunteer projects are excellent for team building, and serve to reinforce your organization’s dedication to giving back to our community. Most projects can be completed in an hour and provide time for social interaction among your staff. We offer various projects in the areas of health, education, workforce development and basic needs.
Day of Caring
Day of Caring is a one-day event that connects corporate employees with volunteer opportunities at local nonprofit agencies. United Way of the Capital Region solicits volunteers from local companies and projects from schools, parks, arts and cultural organizations, environmental groups, and health and human service agencies. The volunteers and projects are then matched together for the day. A wide range of projects are submitted including: painting, landscaping, computer assistance, reading to children, organizing files, sorting donations and outdoor clean up, to name a few.
Holiday Connections
The Volunteer Center can help you and your family, work group or service group find a holiday volunteer project. Holiday Connections, an agency holiday project and wish list, is available to help individuals and companies select holiday projects by providing a multitude of options, complete with contact information.
Board Connections
The Volunteer Center compiles a bank of individuals who are interested in serving on nonprofit boards of directors, committees or other volunteer leadership positions. We can help employees interested in leadership volunteer positions secure placement.
