Real Impact Through Pilot Projects: Meet Bobby
As a veteran of the United States Army, Bobby understands the importance of commitment and hard work. When he recently found himself unemployed, Bobby turned to the Road to Success pilot project.
Road to Success, a community partnership with United Way of the Capital Region, helps the un- and underemployed obtain jobs where they can earn a living wage.
What makes this project unique, is that it’s been developed through the lens of the employer and focuses on guiding individuals through the first year of work, as well as advancements in the workplace.
This includes wrap-around services, like transportation and child care, to help individuals stay on track.
“My youngest daughter is 12 years old,” Bobby says. “I’m working to make sure she’s on track to go to college.”
